So what is all of the rave about Calcium? We all know it gives us strong bones, but why is it really, so important and why is it so essential when you are breastfeeding?

The rave is that calcium is part of what keeps our bodies functioning correctly. Not only would our bones be weak, but without calcium, our heart health would decline, as well as would have a heightened chance of getting cancer, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Additionally, your muscles and nerves would not be able to work well without your daily dose of calcium.

Furthermore, on top of all of that, calcium is also extra important to us breastfeeding moms. While our babies would not be harmed due to their mother’s lack of calcium consumption, the mother would feel greatly fatigued.

The question of the day? What happens if you or your breastfeeding child is allergic to or sensitive to dairy? Even though, the well advertised dairy sources happen to be foods like milk, cheese, or yogurt; there are numerous of other dairy-free options.
